If you’re been thinking about buying some cannabis seeds and starting a grow, then it’s probably crossed your mind on where you’ll purchase your seeds, and what payment method you’ll use.
If you’re buying seeds online, it definitely can feel like a bad idea to purchase seeds through your credit card or even Mastercard because then your bank, the government, or anyone else could see through your statements that you’re purchasing seeds. Now, to some people this might not matter, but if you value your privacy, then there’s only one real solution…Bitcoin!
Bitcoin is one of the most well known cryptocurrencies around, and is well known for it’s anonymity. If you’ve never used Bitcoin before, have no fear, below we’re going to explain all the reputable seed banks that will take Bitcoin as a payment, and also give you a rundown on how to purchase bitcoin and use it to purchase marijuana seeds.
What Even Is Bitcoin and How Can I Purchase Marijuana Seeds With It?:
For those who haven’t heard of it, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, which means it is a decentralized purely electronic currency. This currency can be used to purchase pretty much any product online. It’s similar to this sense to Paypal or the Cash App, but Bitcoin definitely has more benefits which will explain below:
The interesting thing about Bitcoin, is that it’s nearly 100% anonymous and is self-regulated rather than regulated by a government. Every user is given a free online wallet, which has an address attached to it. These addresses are a series of numbers and letters which don’t share any personal information and are difficult to gather any personal info from these addresses. That means you can send and receive bitcoin to addresses without fully knowing the identify of those addresses. This is perfect for purchasing cannabis seeds, because it keeps your information private and away from prying eyes.
How Do I Setup My Wallet and Get Bitcoin?:
Bitcoin is a new form of technology, so it’s quite common to be a little confused at first. Thankfully, I’m going to walk you through it all!
The very first thing you’re going to need to do, is sign up for a free crypto wallet, I personally use Coinbase because they make things a bit simpler and easy to use.
After you’ve registered your account, you’ll need to fund your account with some Bitcoin! You can link your bank account or credit card to Coinbase, and from their you’ll just navigate to “Buy/Sell” in the top right corner, and select Bitcoin, and select your amount.
This will initiate the buying process, and within a few hours you should have bitcoin in your coinbase account!
I’ve Purchased Bitcoin and I’m Ready to Buy Seeds:
So now that you have some Bitcoin in your wallet, you can officially start the seed ordering process!
As shown in the graph above, there are three major seed banks that I would trust with Bitcoin purchases (I would also recommend them for any other payment methods). That being said, ILGM is currently offering savings of 10% as well as free shipping if you purchase through Bitcoin from them!
Each of these 3 seed banks has a slightly different process, but all of them are relatively similar to this:
- Locate the seed strain you’re interested in purchasing from the seed bank.
- Put the seeds and anything else in your cart, and proceed to checkout.
- Select Bitcoin as your payment method.
- The seed bank will then give you their Bitcoin Wallet ID/Address. This is what you’ll need to send the Bitcoin to the right person in Coinbase.
- Navigate to your Coinbase account, click “Send/Receive” in the top right corner.
- Enter the amount of Bitcoin as indicated by the Sale Total by the seed bank, and enter the correct Bitcoin Wallet ID/Address given to you by the seed bank.
- Click Submit.
Similar to any other transaction, the sale will begin and the seed bank will be awaiting the payment, and they should confirm with you once they’ve received it, and are beginning to package and ship your order!
Should You Use BTC to Purchase Cannabis Seeds Online?:
Every person is going to have a different opinion on this depending on what you’re looking for. If you’re looking purely for ease of use, then yes, a credit card is going to be easier. But, if you’re looking to protect your privacy, then Bitcoin is going to be the best choice.
It’s up to you to make the decision on which you want to use, but if you’re on the fence, I’d definitely recommend giving Bitcoin a try for your next purchase!
